Everyday challenges cause me to seek solutions, rather than the solace to survive or coping methods. The solutions are found in improved thoughts and behaviors. Any improved thought or behavior, for me, comes from an understanding of God as Love, Truth and Life. The spiritual solution is more real than a temporal solution that often generates other problems.
But, sometimes challenges in life will baffle me. I don’t find a solution. Instead of beating myself up by analyzing what could be wrong thoughts or behaviors, I go back in time and re-think a previous situation when a challenge was successfully resolved.
I discover what could be termed a positive deviance (as opposed to negative deviance). I discover a thought and behavior that deviates from the standard thoughts and behaviors.
The crucial deviant behavior of communicating with God without a medium has been found useful and can be applied to my current challenge.
Mediums come in many shapes, practices, and characters. Do I believe another person is helping me communicate with God? Am I acting as if a book or words are a medium between me and God? Does my behavior lend to the belief that a ritual is a medium between me and Life, Truth, and Love? Am I utilizing a church organization or a drug as if it is a medium between me and a solution? Does a certain exercise or diet pose as a medium between me and health, holiness, and harmony?
We read in 21st Century Science and Health, “According to Christian Science the only real senses are spiritual, coming from divine Mind. Thought passes from God to us. Sense and information do not go from material body to Mind. The intercommunication is always from God to existence…Not clairvoyant reading or interpersonal communication, but divine law is the communicator of truth, health, and harmony to earth and humanity.”
